November 16, 2009: Online Work Bee

Ordering the 30 copies of Parable of the Sower for OryCon
- Brandon looked on Amazon, has $60 gift card but shipping alone would be over $30 to be safe
- Look into getting them from Powell's instead
Who will person our booth, and when?
- Ben, Brandon, Shelley, Mark?
OnePagePlan issues?
- Ben's friend Lewis said his dad says his firm could be interested
- But we'd need to look like we could fund stuff
- We can argue some preliminary blueprints might help us get funding from people
- Brandon: architects in neighborhood might be interested
  - Particularly a guy named Logan
- As for the one-page plan, Brandon is fine with the 3-year goal being unreasonable
  - Explain the concept of a BHAG to anyone who asks about it?
Figure out the book club stuff
- Parable of the Sower reading group to be established at OryCon?
- Brandon would like to get together w/ other Portlanders we recruited there, read a couple chapters a week
- Can also have a conference-call-based one?
- Regular contact breeds commitment and loyalty
- Ben: Don't want to only give the book to people who pledge to do this specific thing
Inviting people to the Longest Night Festival
- Ben has talked to Art and Lewis about it
- Brandon: invite whole fan clubs from OryCon?
