Conference Calls and Small-Group Structure
From SolSeed
This Sol 2009 session was convened for the purpose of figuring out where to go next with the SolSeedCalls and other smaller meetings between the large OpenSpace events.
Participants
Review of conference calls so far
- Regula: Opening words and checkin time = leaving regular life behind and connecting on a heart level before moving into projects (ideas from the humanist movement meetings)
- Bonnie: Provided continuity of group even though not everyone was present on every call
Ideas for the future
- Brenna: We could recruit people to build small local groups that meet in person
- When one gets too big, have one person split off and start a new group?
- Regula: Similar to the humanist movement in Africa
- But should use the term "invite" rather than "recruit"
- Each person can try to form a local group and bring that experience back to the call
- Specific ideas for call
- Just one topic per call
- Move more practical stuff to a once-a-month business call
- Do longer checkins after unconference to discuss how we experienced it
